An augmented AS-5 for audio over IP

The first amplified speaker in the AS Range, the AS-D5 incorporates Dante™ and PoE+ technologies to enhance the integration possibilities in your projects. With its RJ45 port, a simple Ethernet cable connects to the existing IP network and allows point-to-point addressing of audio sources.

Made of aluminum and powder-coated, the AS-D5 allows for a wide range of customization, and benefits from the FrenchFlair Audio hanging system package for precise positioning in space.

The AS-D5 is an amplified loudspeaker that uses Dante™ / AES67 audio over IP technology, and a power system via PoE+.

While it takes the outer shell of the AS-5, the design has been completely redesigned to incorporate a 60W class D amplifier board with programmed on-board DSP and make the most of these technologies with a new 5″ coaxial driver and horn.

For connection, a standard RJ45 cable is all that is needed to provide the audio signal while powering the speaker.

Dante™ (Digital Audio Network Through Ethernet) is a system that delivers digital audio over a standard Ethernet network using IP packets. The system’s full interoperability allows Dante™ compatible devices from multiple manufacturers to be combined to create simple or highly complex audio networks. Packet-based (IP) technology the system can be expanded or reconfigured with a few clicks.

The AES67 Protocol allows interoperability between various IP-based audio networking systems, such as RAVENNA, Livewire, Q-LAN and Dante™.

PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) is a technology that provides power to the speaker and data transmission via an Ethernet cable. A single cable can carry 48V plus data at 100Mbit/s or 1G bit/s. The speaker is then simply connected to the existing network.
